Create your own unique artwork using flowers, watercolor paper, and a hammer in this hands-on, seasonal art workshop. Learn the basics of flower hammering, including tips on which plant materials work best, techniques for transferring pigments, and ways to design compositions on paper. Participants are encouraged to experiment and explore their creativity, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind. The flowers available will vary by season, adding a natural and dynamic element to every workshop.
Lavender Lemonade and water will be provided. Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and beverages to enjoy during the workshop
After the workshop, wander the fields to gather a seasonal bundle of lavender and wildflowers.
Instructor Bio
Courtney Denning is an environmental educator and one of the Garden Designers and Consultants at Deeply Rooted Landscapes, as well as the company's Webmaster, IT Administrator, and Social Media Coordinator. She started working at DRL in June 2022. Courtney has a background in plant ecology and has been studying wildlife since childhood. Her work spans environmental education, library programming, and digital communications, including launching the Piqua Seed Library. At Deeply Rooted Landscapes, she designs gardens, consults with homeowners, and manages web and social media content. At home, she grows more than 200 Ohio native plant species on less than one quarter acre.
